Brooke: Mummy, look – Tom!
Tom: Hey, hello you two!
Jamie: Hi Tom, how are you doing!
Tom: I’m great, thanks. All right, Brooke? I like your boots!
Jamie: Oh Tom, mind your jeans, you’ll get muddy!
Tom: Oh, they’ll wash. Isn’t your mummy bossy, Brooke?
Jamie: Jake says he’s given you a few shifts at the pub.
Tom: Yeah, I’m starting tomorrow night – I could do with the extra money.
Jamie: I’m glad he’s taken you on – he needs to take more time off.
Tom: I think we’ll have a laugh, won’t we, working together? What’s he like to work for? I mean, I know him from football and that, but people are different when they’re your boss, aren’t they?
Jamie: He’s very easy going…
Tom: That’s always a quality I like in my employers!
Jamie: Yeah, well…look, Tom, I’ll say this to you straight.
Jamie: Yes, I think we’ll have fun working together. But you’ve got to take it seriously as well; pull your weight. You could easily take advantage of Jake. He doesn’t always keep on top of things like he should. But I do – I watch his back. So don’t mess him about, okay?
Tom: Jamie, I like the guy, he’s a mate – I’m not going to spoil that! Blimey, have you got a crush on him or something?
Jamie: He’s my best friend. I do love him, but like he’s my brother. But seeing as you mentioned crushes – you and Rowan…?
Tom: Oh that was so embarrassing…you know, in the end, I just had to say to her, ‘Look, Rowan, I’m really not interested…’
Jamie: You liar!
Tom: Ha ha! Well…I did used to kind of tease her and flirt with her, but I think I would have run a mile if she’d ever shown any interest! She used to get so cross with me…she’s much nicer to me now.
Jamie: I guess it’s because she’s just happier now she’s with Jake.
Tom: Nah – I reckon it’s because Niamh sticks up for me now!
