It’s time we made Millie her own outfit. Millie, I know that fabric is pretty but it’s hard to sew. Isn’t there anything else you like?
No? You want a bodysuit from the hard-to-sew stuff…well ok.
Well, it DOES look pretty but I think now I will throw away the rest of that fabric, I don’t want to make anything else with it.
But Millie has found the sock pattern and would like matching socks.
I persuade her that tights might be better for the winter. They will look pretty under a little pinafore dress.
You don’t want a dress. Fine. I’ll make trousers then.
It’s not the best outfit in the world but I need practise sewing for Millie, and at least it’s cosy and it fits. Miranda lends her some shoes and we go out to play.
Millie wants to see the rabbits and Blackberry wants to see Millie!
Dandelion is naughty and tries to eat Poppy’s ear.
Millie decides to go back over to Blackberry, but he won’t come out now he knows we have no food.
I’m not too sure about Millie climbing trees in her newly made clothes…
Millie wants to see the fish but it is cold and grey so they aren’t near the surface, we will have to look again on a sunny day.
I want her to pose by the autumn leaves…
…but standing still is boring! Can we go now?
There is no-one in the garden today, and no-one in the park. It’s too cold and grey.
Millie feels like the only person in the whole wide world today! And I feel like I have aquired a small female version of Noah – God help me.
