Robin: You did WHAT?
Lizzie: I watched you on YouTube.
Robin: Why would you do THAT?
Lizzie: Because I was missing you…
Lizzie: …and because I wanted to hear you sing. I’ve never heard you. You never sing along with the radio or anything.
Robin: Well, it’s not what I do for a livin’ now, is it? An’ I don’t have te do it in me spare time.
Lizzie: You’re cross.
Robin: I’m not, I just – I didn’t think you were bothered about all that stuff, Liz…I thought you just liked me fer meself.
Lizzie: Well, of course I do – you know that, you know I love you for yourself.
Robin: Why’d’you look at that stuff then? It’s all over an’ done with.
Lizzie: Robin, you can’t keep ignoring big chunks of the past.
Robin: I can do what I like –
Lizzie: Come on, don’t be like that. I just looked because I was curious, and I was missing you so much – but it was kind of like looking at someone else, not the real you.
Lizzie: You’ve always played down your part in the band though – you made it sound like you were just there to look pretty and make up the numbers, but you were really good, even Cherry said so. It would be nice if you could look back and feel proud.
Robin: I don’t think there was that much to be proud of…I just turned up an’ did what I was told.
Lizzie: Well, I don’t agree. You were part of something really big that made a lot of people happy, and you’ll be remembered for that, even if YOU try and forget it all.
Lizzie: Robin, you always say you’re no good at anything – but you are. Niamh told me you wrote some of the songs – you never told me that, and you never told me you can play the guitar –
Robin: It didn’t seem like it was important…
Lizzie: But you always focus on the things you think you can’t do very well, when there are lots of things you ARE good at that you don’t mention!
Robin: Well, here’s another thing, then – I can play the piano an’ all.
Lizzie: Oh you see, all these things you can do – they are real skills!
Robin: They’re not much help with just gettin’ through life, though, are they Liz?
Robin: I would just like to be good at the stuff that everyone else can do without even thinkin’ about.
Lizzie: I know…
Lizzie: Hey, I wish I knew someone who had a piano, so I could hear you play. Well, there’s the one in the pub, we could ask Jake –
Robin: Lizzie, I brought a couple of me guitars back with me – if you wanted to, I could play you something right now.
Lizzie: Oh Robin – I would love that!
