Dan: This is a hell of a shopping list, angel!
Sadie: Don’t panic, darling. We don’t have to get everything this afternoon.
Dan: It just seems like a lot of stuff for one small baby – did Effie even have this much for the twins?
Sadie: Well – I suppose it might be possible that I’ve gone a LITTLE bit over the top…I could trim the list a little…
Dan: No – we’ll get whatever you want!
Sadie: Oh thank you darling! Put my boots on for me?
Sadie: Daniel – do you think that Niamh and Tom will want to carry on living here, when the baby’s here?
Dan: Oh – I hadn’t thought about it – why wouldn’t they? It’s not like we don’t have the room for everyone!
Sadie: It will be a big change – one little baby causes a lot of disruption! Maybe they won’t want to be woken by crying at all hours, or having to be quiet when the baby’s sleeping…
Dan: Niamh loved helping out with the twins right after they were born…but I suppose it was different then, she was younger, she wasn’t working and she wasn’t with Tom…
Dan: Angel – would you LIKE them to move out? I can understand if you felt you wanted us to have the place to ourselves…
Sadie: Oh NO darling! I love them being here! They’re such good company, and it’s lovely to have them around when you’re away working. I know they’ll want to get their own place one day, they’re saving for it, and but I don’t want them to feel pushed out when the baby’s here.
Dan: We’ll make sure they don’t. I like them being here too, and I like knowing you’re not on your own when I’m not here.
Dan: I was thinking – we never use the dining room, do we? We always eat in the kitchen or in front of the TV. Why don’t we let them turn it into their own little living room?
Sadie: Oh I’m sure they’d love that! They would have a bit more privacy.
Dan: Let’s talk to them about it tonight. Come on now – we’ve got a lot of shopping to do.
