Orlando: Do things seem a little brighter now that you’re warm and safe?
Robin: Yeah, I suppose…
Orlando: Why so unsure?
Robin: Cos they’re only better now I’m relyin’ on other people again, an’ I just wanted te prove I could stand on me own two feet.
Orlando: Who do you think you need to prove it to?
Robin: Well – everybody! Me mam an’ Martie, an’ the other boys in the band –
Robin: -especially Ed, he said I’d be back livin’ at home in no time, everyone said I wouldn’t manage by meself an’ they all think I’m just a sackless kid an’ they’re right, aren’t they?
Orlando: Robin, you don’t have to prove anything to anybody! If you want to live your own life, do it for yourself, not to prove a point to people who aren’t here to see anyway.
Robin: Just as well they’re not here, they’d be havin’ a laugh, wouldn’t they? I can’t even manage the most simple things.
Orlando: You haven’t had much opportunity to do things for yourself – but your new friends will help you.
Orlando: Robin – you need to spend time with people in the real world, people your own age – I think I should leave you to do that on your own.
Robin: No – !
Robin: You can’t do that! I need you here!
Orlando: It’s for your own good, you must get to know these people. I’m not going to leave you forever.
Robin: No, please! I can’t manage without you –
Orlando: Robin, you can! Or at least you have to try!
Robin: No – Orlando! Orlando – oh!
