Niamh: Hello Tom!
Tom: Niamh! Hi! Have you been out somewhere?
Niamh: Yes, I went to Exbury Gardens for the day. I had such a good time, the flowers were really beautiful – and the weather has been lovely.
Tom: It’s a lovely place to visit, I’m glad you enjoyed it. What have you got there?
Niamh: I got an azalea for Effie – she loves her garden so much! I hope she likes it.
Tom: I’m sure she will. So – did you go by yourself?
Niamh: Just me and the fifty other people on the coach!
Tom: Here, let me carry that for you – I’m going your way.
Niamh: Thank you, Tom, that’s kind of you.
Tom: Didn’t Effie want to go with you?
Niamh: Well, she went to the East Leake Botanical Gardens at the weekend, so she wasn’t up for another day trip just yet! But that’s okay, I like going to places on my own.
Tom: Oh….
Niamh: Well – when I say I like it – I mean I don’t mind, but it IS nicer to have someone to go with, isn’t it? Like if you go to the cinema – I don’t mind going by myself, but it’s nice to have someone to discuss the film with after – and go for a pizza with! The cinemas are all a long way from here though, aren’t they?
Tom: They show films at the community centre, Tuesday and Friday nights – recent ones. There’s a new one on this week.
Niamh: Really? We should go, Tom! We could go tomorrow. Are you free?
Tom: Er – yes! Yes I am.
Niamh: And then shall we go to the Italian? I went there with Sadie, I really like it.
Tom: Okay! I’ll call for you – six o’clock?
Niamh: I shall really look forward to it, Tom – thank you so much for asking me!
