Robin: Ah, Lizzie, I wish I’d not had that cider, it’s gone straight to me head…
Lizzie: I though you only had one glass!
Robin: Aye, but I s’pose it was a big one, wasn’t it?
Lizzie: You shouldn’t have let Tom persuade you to have it. Do you feel sick?
Robin : No, I just feel like I want te go te sleep.
Lizzie: Well, go and lie down for a bit – we can play table tennis some other time.
Robin : Ah, I’ve spoilt the afternoon now…
Lizzie: Oh Robin, don’t be daft – of course you haven’t!
Lizzie: I tell you what – we could always watch a DVD instead, couldn’t we? Then it doesn’t matter if you fall asleep.
Robin: Okay – we could watch that film Jake lent us.
Robin: Lizzie? It’s sort of nice when you call me daft…
Robin: …cos I know I am, but you like me how I am, don’t you?
Lizzie: Well, of course I do – what a question!
Robin: It’s so easy bein’ with you, an’ with Tom an’ Niamh, I can just be meself.
Lizzie: Well, it would be pretty sad if you couldn’t be yourself with your friends, wouldn’t it?
Robin: I never really had any proper friends before. It’s nice, havin’ people to do stuff with, an’ not havin’ to worry about how I talk, or what I say, an’
knowin’ I’m not goin’ te get wrong off everyone for messin’ things up.
Lizzie: Is that how things were in the band, Robin…?
Robin: It was really hard sometimes, Lizzie. The other lads were older than me, an’ they ragged
me about everythin’ – me accent, an’ me readin’, an’ how I looked, an’ then I wasn’t as clever as them, I didn’t pick things up so quick, so they always went
on about that an’ got fed up with me.
Robin: An’ they were all taller than me…they went on about me still livin’ with me mam an’ all, an’ not havin’ a girlfriend. They were always out with different girls
– models an’ dancers an’ that –
Robin: – but I’ve had the last laugh there, haven’t I, Lizzie? Cos the whole lot of them put together, they couldn’t hold a candle to you! None of them could have been as pretty, or as kind, or as clever as you.
Lizzie: Oh, well now I KNOW you’re daft!
Robin: I’m not, though, Lizzie, I’m not – I know this is one thing I’ve got right.
Robin: You’re the nicest lass in the whole world, Lizzie. Everything’s a hundred times better with you.
This part made me cry. Robin is so sweet.
I love your stories so much.
