Sadie: Hello, darling – you’ve been shopping!
Niamh: Got my dress for your wedding – are you heading home too?
Sadie: Oh yes but show me now, I can’t wait – just a peek at the colour –
Niamh: Sadie, you are SO impatient! What do you think, do you like it?
Sadie: Oh it’s so pretty – darling, do you think it was a bit over the top, asking everyone to wear something with a bit of pink in? I was just thinking – you know, maybe Jamie doesn’t have the money to spend on new outfits for her and Brooke, and it’s not the sort of thing they usually wear, so maybe it wasn’t fair of me to ask…
Niamh: Jamie’s sorted! She got Brooke a nice little dress in a sale, and she got herself something really pretty in the charity shop – it’s a top and skirt, and she said she can wear them with other things after.
Sadie: Oh – I feel bad she had to go the charity shop…
Niamh: But she LIKES shopping there! She says you get something a bit different and it’s like recycling!
Niamh: Anyway, how did your morning go – did Rowan behave herself for the dress fitting?
Sadie: God no! She was appalling – oh but Niamh, I had my hand on her and I felt her baby moving! It was the first time she’d felt it – it was so wonderful…
Niamh: It must have been very exciting!
Sadie: Can’t help feeling just a little bit jealous though, darling…
Niamh: Oh Sadie! I’m sure you’ll have your own baby on the way in no time – Dan’s hoping you’ll have a honeymoon baby!
Sadie: Well – bit worried about that, actually, darling. My cycle’s been a bit funny lately…what if there’s something wrong, now that we’re finally ready to start our family?
Niamh: But everything has been fine up to now, hasn’t it? Do you know what I think –
Niamh: – you’ve been on your detox diet, then you started your ‘eat-the-right-things-to-conceive-a-girl’ diet. And you’ve given yourself so much to do for the wedding, and you’re missing Dan so much – all these kinds of things can affect your body, can’t they?
Sadie: I suppose you are right, darling…
Sadie: Well, I shall knock those diets on the head and see if things go back to normal! Can’t do much about having too much to do though…
Niamh: You could always try letting us all help you out!
Sadie: Thanks for this little chat, Niamh! I don’t feel so worried now.
Niamh: Come on. Let’s go home and get a cold drink. Oh that’s another thing – you haven’t even had a Bailey’s for weeks, your system’s probably gone into shock!
Sadie: Haven’t missed it, actually, darling! Well, I shall stick to my guns about not drinking – it will be good practise for when I have my baby.
