Jamie: Is that it, then? One bag of crisps?
Dan: That’s it – thanks!
Jamie: You’re looking at me weird.
Dan: Sorry – didn’t mean to. You’re looking lovely today, is all.
Jamie: Go and sit down and eat your crisps.
Jake: You ok there, Jamie?
Jamie: Course I am – I think I’ll just go get another box of crisps, though, we’re a bit low.
Jake: No no, you stay there, I’ll get it.
Jamie: I can get it – oh, whatever!
Tom: So what do you reckon, then?
Dan: I dunno – it’s kind of hard to tell…
Tom: I wonder if Effie would know?
Will: She doesn’t. I asked. Jake must know, he’s her boss, he would HAVE to know, wouldn’t he?
Tom: He reckons he doesn’t know either but I don’t believe him.
Will: I don’t know why you don’t just ask her.
Dan: We’re too scared.
Will: How can you be scared of Jamie?
Tom: She can be a bit feisty…and she’s so evasive, if you ask her anything outright and she doesn’t want to answer. Or sometimes she just says ‘mind your own business’. In a scary way.
Dan: You ask her, Will!
Will: Oh, I really should be going now…got to pick the kids up from Mum’s. Come on, Haggis.
Tom: Okay – see you later!
Jake: Here you go – oh, what’s up?
Jamie: They’re looking at me weird.
Jake: They’re not looking at you at all!
Jamie: They were a minute ago, they were definitely talking about me.
Jake: Well…I wouldn’t worry about it…look, they’re just chatting.
Jamie: Yeah, but keep watching!
Jamie: See, they’re doing it again! I’m going to sort this out.
Jake: Jamie –
Dan: Let’s just ask Dusty.
Tom: Yeah but he’ll probably tell her we asked, then I’ll end up with a clip round the ear!
Jamie: You’re well on the way to getting one anyway, mate, so don’t bother asking Dusty!
